Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
What is the price of your puppies?
Our Champion Quality English Labrador Retrievers puppies are priced from $1250.00 to $2500.00. All of our dogs are sold with limited registration. A registration upgrade is available after genetic testing, a questioning process and an additional fee. The reason for limiting registration is to ensure that our puppies go into a forever home, where they will be loved and enjoyed. Responsible breeding takes on many different facets and we have high value for responsible breeders and breeding practices.
Why do your dogs cost more than others I have seen?
We are dedicated to improving the breed(s) and the life of the puppies. We test extensively and offer guarantees that the average breeder is unwilling/unable to make. There are cheaper dogs out there, however, we encourage you to make an educated decision about your newest family member. We can ensure you that in a matter of days, if not sooner, your puppy will be more than just a dog, more like a child. There is nothing more difficult than seeing your new companion reddened with illness and having to make the very difficult decision to treat or end the suffering. We are confident that the quality of our puppies and the peace of mind are worth the price.
How do I reserve my puppy?
A deposit of $200.00 must be made before your puppy is reserved. This deposit goes towards the price of the puppy. The remaining balance is expected by the time the puppy is 6 weeks of age. The deposit is non-refundable, however, it is transferable to a future puppy/litter. Payments can be made through Credit card (3% additional cost), PayPal (3% additional cost), check or cash.
How do I pick out my puppy?
We start the selection process when the puppies are 4 weeks of age. You and your family are more than welcome to come out to our home; however, if you’re not local we will work with you on picking through photos, videos and personality traits the puppy is already exhibiting.
Are you able to ship puppies?
We are able to ship to most major airports in the 48 Continental United States and Alaska. We are also able to ship internationally and on an individual basis. The typical cost of shipping is $450.00 and includes: a travel crate, a required Vet Health Certificate and all fees associated with flying your puppy to an airport near you.
Why should I care about a dog’s pedigree if I just want a good family pet and don’t intend to show, hunt, or breed my dog? (Credit for this Q&A Response, to Candyheart Labradors)
A good pedigree isn’t everything, but it is a very good place to start when you want to learn something about a dog or it’s line. Even if all you want is a good family pet, you still want a healthy dog, a beautiful dog, and a smart, trainable dog right? And you probably also want to know that the pup was well bred and did not come from an uneducated breeder or a puppy mill right?
Well, a pedigree can tell you a lot about a dog. For example, an AKC certified pedigree will show you the health clearances, if any, of each dog in your pup’s family tree. You will be able to see if the parents, grandparents, and great grandparents were tested for their hips, elbows, eyes, etc. This is extremely important if you want a healthy dog.
You can also see if any of your dog’s parents, grandparents, or great grandparents earned any titles. Again, if you don’t want to show, hunt, or breed your dog you may wonder why this is important, however when there are a lot of champion show dogs in your dog’s pedigree you can see that your pup comes from a long line of beautiful dogs with correct conformation. It also means that you have a reasonable expectation of how tall and heavy your pup will grow to be since champions must meet the AKC’s breed standard in size and weight, so you can be assured that your pup will not grow to be twice the size it’s supposed to.
If your dog doesn’t have any titles in his or her pedigree, how do you know how he or she will turn out? Will she weigh 65 lbs or 105 lbs? Will she be pretty or smart? It may even have health problems steaming from the fact that it’s body is improperly proportioned or caring too much weight for its breed.
If you are looking for a dog with certain expectations in mind as to how the dog will look, how big it will get, if it will be healthy, and if it will be smart and trainable, carefully examining its pedigree is very, very important.
One last thing to consider is, a well bred, beautiful, smart, & trainable dog will come from breeders who spend the time and money to put titles on them and prove their dogs beauty, intelligence, and performance ability. If a dog has little to no titles in his or her pedigree and little to no health certifications, it either came from a puppy mill or an uneducated back yard breeder and will probably not meet many of your expectations regarding that breed. It’s also important to understand that a well bred, well rounded, healthy dog–even just as a pet–will cost a lot of money. Only expect to pay less than $800 or so for a poorly bred dog If you don’t believe in spending much on a dog that is “just a pet” or you simply don’t feel you can afford it, that’s your decision, just don’t expect the same quality. I believe you get what you pay for.
How old do the puppies have to be to go to their new home?
Our puppies do not leave our home until eight weeks of age. The two primary reasons for this is because it is good for the puppies to be with their litter mates to develop their social skills and we begin our puppy’s shots at seven weeks of age. The seven-week shot is the initial shot to introduce the puppy’s body to certain anti-bodies and begin building up their immune system. Thus, we keep them longer to give their bodies’ time to respond to the shot.
Am I able to visit your home and see the puppies and facilities?
We LOVE having visitors out to our home, however, we do have a few rules to ensure the health of the puppies. Puppies must be 4 weeks old before being handled by the general public. Until this time, puppies have not developed any resistance to diseases and are not yet strong enough to be handled by multiple people. Additionally, we require that you have not been to any breeding/kennel facility (including pet stores) within 48 hours of visiting our home; this is important as these places are “breeding grounds” for contagious diseases that young puppies are not able to fight off.
What’s included with my new puppy?
All of our puppies have their first vaccinations, microchip and have been dewormed every two weeks until adopted. We send you home from "Puppy Pick-Up" with a folder that includes their vaccination/worming records, registration paperwork, microchip paperwork, guarantee of good health and bill of sale.
What is microchipping, and why should I get my newest addition microchipped?
Microchipping is where a microchip (the size of a grain of rice) is implanted under the skin of animals as a means of identification. Millions of dogs become lost each year; tragically, few are reunited with their owners. Many lost dogs end up in shelters where they are adopted out to new homes or euthanized. It is important that your dog has identification at all times. Collars and tags are helpful, but they can fall off or become damaged. Technology has made it possible to equip your pet with a microchip for permanent identification.
We are strong proportionates for this procedure as the bond created between family and pet is invaluable. We have had success with microchipping our puppies, therefore, we encourage all of our puppies to be microchipped prior to them going to their new families.

How much does MicroChipping cost?
The cost for AKC Reunite Microchip + Lifetime Recovery Service = $55.50/ puppy. If you are interested in this service, please let us know and we will ensure your pet has this valuable identification.
What is limited registration?
All of our puppies are sold under limited registration, unless other wise stated. Limited Registration means that the dog is registered but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration, this also limits puppies from competing in some shows put on by various organizations.
We are firm believers that our genetics, strenuous testing and the manner in which we raise our puppies produce exceptional dogs. The amount of time, energy and effort to raise quality puppies is something we don’t take lightly. One should not “casually” want to be in the dog business; it takes an exceptional amount of work to produce quality puppies.
If you are interested in upgrading to full registration, please feel free to let us know and we would love to talk with you regarding our requirements to upgrade and our concerns we have about “Backyard Breeders”. After your puppy has reached 2 years of age, has had all of it's genetic tests completed, a brief interview, full registration is possibly available for an additional fee.
Do you guarantee your puppies?
We do guarantee our puppies. We include a copy of our health guarantee and bill of sale in the “puppy pack" that you will receive when you place your deposit for your puppy. This copy is for you to review. We will have copies to sign in your folder at "Puppy Pick-Up."
How many dogs do you own?
We have a very limited amount of dogs, as a way to keep our numbers down and ensure the best genetics available, we breed to select stud dogs (all extensively tested & Champion Quality English Labrador Retrievers). All of our dogs are able to run, play and swim freely. Each of our adult dogs are inside/outside dogs and are an intricate member of our family! We are so glad that we are able to share our passion and love for both English Labrador Retrievers with the rest of the world!
How big do English Labrador Retrievers get?
Labrador Retrievers weights range from 55 to 95 pounds.
What is the difference between English Labrador Retrievers and American Labrador Retrievers?
The primary differences between English and American Labrador Retrievers are their conformation, size and disposition. English Labs have block heads, “otter” tails and more stocky bodies. They also are smaller in weight and have a calmer personality, but still like to play. American Labs have more pointed heads and tails, typically heavier in weight, and have a more spastic personality which causes them to take longer to calm down. The American Labs are also more apt to chewing and digging. That doesn’t mean that English Labs won’t chew or dig, but they typically are less likely to do so and if they do, their “terrible two’s” stage ends quicker than American Labs. You will quickly fall in love with the disposition of Champion Quality English Labrador Retrievers!
